Nearly three years ago, an active member of the prayer group, who gradually became my close friend, introduced me to Gethsemane Ministries. I confidently phone her for my prayer request or whenever I face any problems. God used her as His instrument to bring me close to Jesus. For me every single day and every breath I take, a miracle and gift from the Lord. My son, after completing his studies in Switzerland had to leave the country. Being aware of their stringent rules, I was nervous. Time was running out, I could not get a visa for him to Canada. But things took a different turn, Thank God! I happened to phone my cousin in Dubai to wish for her birthday. She inquired about my son and I told her the problem I was facing. She reassured me that she would take him to join her business. But when he started working for her, there were differences, so she asked him to leave. My son being in a strange country, I was in turmoil, as he did not have anyone to fall back on. I asked my friend from the prayer group to pray. “God sent a total stranger”, a kind and God-fearing young man for my son’s help. He took care of my son, till he got a job. My son has just signed a contract after a number of tedious interviews. What made me most happy is that my son is getting closer to God too. Praise the Lord!. I do not know how to thank God enough. My dear brothers and sisters in christ, For the last few months my eye sight was getting very poor. I couldn't read without spectacles. Since I don't have any glasses, I used my husband's old spectacles but it caused severe head-ache and pain around my eyes. I took an appiontment with the ophthalmologist on Nov.16th, In the meantime Jesus gave me a chance to attened the Gethsemane Ministries prayer meeting, after the prayer I just took 'Sunday Shalom' news paper and looked over it. I reccognized that I could read very well even the small letters.Then I took Bible and I could read very clearly without the spectacles. Praise the Lord. I had to make a critical decision regarding my surgery - should I undergo the quadruple bypass surgery in Toronto or in India. Each location came with its advantages, but I wanted to be certain about what was the best choice. During a Saturday prayer meeting I attended, I was convinced that I needed to go to India for my surgery. I did just that and I am certain that my recovery is nothing short of a miracle. I can share my own little 'experience'. Friday night my neck was pretty bad. I have two degenerative discs (C5 and C6). Sometimes the pain is worse than other times, it has been so for many years. I do not often get a whole night's sleep. I of course try to offer this pain and unite my small suffering to His... but can you believe it... After the prayer meeting Friday night I slept the entire night... and in the morning my neck was much less stiff!! I thanked God for this ‘reprieve’ so I can continue to work for Him as long as He gives me life! I am sure however the prayers of you all last night and the presence of the Lord touched my neck. I have been attending the Gethsemane prayer meeting for sometime now and I would like to share with you the healing I received from my loving Jesus. My right hand from my wrist to the elbow was swollen and painful for a while. My daughter asked me to see the doctor but I refused and kept on praying to my Lord Jesus to heal me. My prayers were heard to my great surprise and awe. The swelling went down and the pain disappeared. Thanks to Jesus and to my friends who prayed for me. Today, I know in my heart that nothing is impossible for Jesus.” How did I come to Gethsemane? We were only two years in Canada when I lost my husband to cancer. It happened too fast and his end came soon. I was grief stricken. Depression set in and I cried uncontrollably. My good friend Zita from the Gethsemane prayer group visited me often and talked to me about surrendering everything to the Lord, who knows what is best for us. She took me to the prayer meetings. I had a test at school and I was afraid. I prayed to Jesus and said to Him that I have done my best and He had to do the rest for me. When the results came - I got the highest marks in my class! I have been suffering with a blood disorder since 1991, which needed to be specially monitored. Earlier this month I went for the required blood tests. During my appointment with my doctor he said that my blood tests showed no abnormality. I was healed! I have been experiencing a lot of pain in my knees and the doctor informed me that I would need a knee replacement. I prayed to Jesus and continue to trust in Him to heal my knee. I had come to the prayer meeting with severe pain in my eye, which I was experiencing for the last few days at work. I realized that I would have to pay for any eye check up. My dad, aged 75 years, lives in Goa, India. He had a problem with his eye, for more than a month.The doctor informed him that he would need to have a delicate operation on the cornea, which was further complicated by his age. Also he would need to travel to Bombay for the surgery. When I spoke to my Mom, she said to me as she did to the rest of my family, “Do not worry, God is with us and the Holy Spirit will cure daddy”. I asked Gethsemane, my prayer group, to pray for my dad and I too prayed for him during my personal prayer. After my personal prayer, I felt peace and calm come over me. I received a call not too long after, from my brother to say, “Dad is alright. He does not require any surgery as the doctors informed that the eye will heal by applying an ointment”. My husband and I would like to thank all those at the Gethsemane Prayer Group and the Family Prayer Mission who put in so much of effort and their time to invite Father Augustine, Glen and Therese from India for the retreat. God does wonders when you are working for Him as call Saviors. Praise to our Wonderful and Mighty Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May the Good Lord Bless all of you and your families abundantly, as you continue to gather more brothers and sisters to Him. It was a very beautiful retreat, which touched so many people. I would like to thank God for allowing me and my family to be present there every single day of the retreat. Everyday we returned home with joy in our hearts. We felt so good. God's message for me was when faced with trials, I have to focus on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ because only He cares and knows me through and through.The Couples Retreat was awesome too. The washing of the feet ceremony was beautiful, which Fr. Augustine did it with a very beautiful meaning. When I went home that night, I felt so happy and thanked my Sweet Lord for everything. Now every night my husband, our son and me join hands together and do praise and worship before we go to bed. I am very glad to hear my son praising and thanking God, which I've never heard before. Every night I wore my rosary on my neck and held on tightly to the cross and said "Jesus, Jesus,.. and went to bed. He has always been my strength, my comfort, my shelter, my hiding place and my refuge in times of trouble. I thank my Sweet Lord for He cares and loves me so much, more than anyone in this world. I thank Him for all the trials in my life, which He made me, realize and learn how weak I was without Him and that I need Him in my life. I'm so proud of you Lord and I love you my Jesus. Greetings to all in our saviour Jesuse Christ. Prayers were requested on December 10th for the following: (1). Ingrid & her husband who were separated for more than a month: Now they have been reconciled on Christmas Day. (2). My daughter Cassandra who was over due: Gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Dec.12th, a very normal delivery. Also, the doctor was suspecting the baby to be down-syndrome and suggested for an abortion in her 2nd/3rd month of pregancy.This healing took place the very first time when Suresh told my daughter that Jesus has healed the baby. Praise the Lord ! My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today I talked to my brother Bose who had an accident before. His injury was very serious and everybody think that we can't see him again. But he is still alive, It is really a miracle. I think God has a plan for him. Thanks for your wonderful prayers. I always thankful to God. I was cried like Martha and Mary cried. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers on our behalf. The Lord has answered our prayers and my Fiance has gotten a good report from his doctor. Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, about mid May' 02, I send in a prayer request as I was sick. All of a sudden I experienced severe pain on my left arm and after a few days severe chest pain too. So I visited my doctor. My worry got worst as she wanted to have a cardiogram done immediately and also wanted a stress test done too. The cardiogram test results showed everything was ok, but my pain never went away. The doctor also made an appointment to see a cardiologist. I was given some medication but the pain never went away. I was scared and very worried when I thought that if something happened to me what would happen to my only son who is only 11 years old. I've never been this scared in my life. I emailed Gethsemane Prayer Group to pray for me and I also too prayed to Jesus and told him how scared I was. Even with the pain I still attended the Gethsemane prayer meetings on Fridays because my hope was only on the wonderful Lord and I always feel his presence and love all over me everytime I come there. I still remember on one occasion when I sang praises to the Lord, the pain in my chest got worst but I just left it to the Lord and God was with me all the time. On August 12th, 2002, I had my appointment with the cardiologist and they did run all kinds of test and he told me that I would get my results in about 10 days. But up to date, I have not heard from them. I feel that they would have contacted me if somethng was wrong. My hand pain and my chest pain is much better and I do all my work as usual. I would like to thank the Gethsemane Prayer Group who prayed for me night and day. You are doing a wonderful job for the Lord. It's so wonderful and good to belong to such a wonderful prayer group. Dear friends in Christ, back in July I requested prayer for my daughter Alycia who was having scoliosis surgery. She had the 11 hour surgery and after a ruff recovery is doing well. I send a prayer request for my precious son Jim, who is about to undergo, his second Open-Heart Surgery, on July 29th. This time, Jim's heart is in such bad shape, a special Doctor has been called, to perform the Surgery. He has only done 16, of the type Jim will need. He tells us, Jim has a very sick Heart.The right side has ceased to function, and his Heart is stuck to his breast bone, making it extremely difficult, to get inside. We believe in miracles through prayer, we prayed to Almighty God, and his Blessed Mother, to guide the hands, of this Doctor, and to spare the life, of my most loved son. Then the miracle happened, Jim was sent to a different hospital, with a new team of Doctors, and a different date. On August 1st, Jim had his open heart surgery, and Praise God, all is well. I wish to share my personal experience with the Lord Jesus. I personally experienced Jesus a few years ago when through God’s grace I came across the Gethsemane prayer group. Through the constant prayer and fellowship I was able to come to terms with an incident that had occurred in my very young life – I was sexually abused. Through prayer and fasting, fellowship and intercession, forgiveness and interceding for the person who had caused me the hurt, and for people in similar circumstances, I was able to overcome the guilt and shame that had become a part of my life. I am now filled with peace and joy and a knowledge that my God will not fail me. I can share this today, because I believe that others in similar circumstances whether they have caused the hurt or have been hurt, can experience true joy and happiness again in life by coming to Jesus. On my way back to Toronto from Bombay, we were put up at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Amsterdam overnight. On March 16th about 2.45p.m I was waiting outside the hotel for the shuttle bus to take me to Schipol airport which was around 30 min away. I went to the reception to make some inquiry and had put my passport, ticket and money on the counter, when suddenly the man on the counter, shouted and charged outside. I saw two youth; one had picked up my stroller bag and was jumping onto the back of the bicycle. I also charged after them for quite a distance but they disappeared into some by-lanes. As I was walking back with the hotel staff, I prayed, I said "Jesus I don't know why this is happening to me, but if there is a lesson in this some where let your will be done, please bring my bag back somehow" And I was praising the Lord throughout. Surprisingly, I was quite calm. In the hotel the lady had already informed the police and she gave back my passport and ticket, but the cash; US$100 was missing, so they started checking the video to see who had come there. It was almost 3.o'clock and I was to board at 4.15 they called for a taxi but I had no cash to pay for the taxi. So I prayed again and praised the Lord. Then it occurred to me that as I was running after the thieves and I had grabbed the cash and was trying to thrust it into my pocket so I could have dropped it on the road. I went outside to check the road. Praise the Lord, the two bills were fluttering in the breeze in full view of everyone. I ran back inside to tell them and they quickly changed the US$50 to Euros. As I was running to the taxi, a police car drew up, they had my bag with them, intact! The thieves had discarded my bag they stole. All this took place in 15 minutes.
