We wanted to share with you how powerfully God has moved in our lives the past few months. Almost like the one month anniversary of 9/11- our daughter had a terrible accident- her right side of the face got accidentally burnt from steam. Needless to recount the mental, emotional and physical agony we went through, would rather that the wound was inflicted on us than her. But therein lies the amazing thing- the hand of God was with her - she had absolutely no pain and except for the burn marks- she was carrying on as usual - at first since the area was insensate the surgeon thought the worst - it might be third degree burns and the nerves are destroyed that is why there is no pain - but the wound started healing on the fourth day itself with pigment coming back earlier than documented cases - that the burns specialist was amazed and said he had no explanation for the turn of events - except that he was well pleased with Sarah's recovery. It has been almost three months now since the event and Sarah is almost back to normal with no scarring whatsoever. Prayer was the only thing that sustained us through this time. We experienced His grace in that He protected Sarah from pain and accelerated her healing. We were given the Word through prayer resulting in us having a more intimate fellowship with Christ. All honor and glory and praise and thanksgiving to the Lord God through His dear Son,Jesus Christ. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your prayers. Your group added their prayers to those of others for my sister Carolyn Gray back in Setember of 2001. We received a miracle as the doctor's had said Carolyn could not survive another operation which she apparently needed to save her life but then for no apparent reason changed their mind and operated. Soon afterwards after 50 years of having no direct experience of Christ, I asked for forgiveness of my sins and definitely received this peace immediately. I almost could not believe what I had experienced but I now know that God is real and that he loves all of us. I want to thank you for your prayers on my behalf and on behalf of my sister. I am so grateful for your prayers. I had not been employed for some time. I received an email from you saying you were praying for me and two days later the city called and said I did very well in my interview and out of the top three people they had chosen me. This was a position that started out at 140 people. After a written test and an oral test I ended up at the #2 spot. I consider this alone to be a miracle considering the people I was up against. I have been attending the Gethsemane weekly fellowship for over a year. "God is Our Protector and our Defender" and whoever goes to him with faith and trust will not go empty-handed. I have been in temporary employment for over 3 1/2 years and for 6 months I did not get any assignments. I did not give up hope in Jesus and knew that God had something better in store for me. In mid June '01, I got a 3 week assignment which carried on for 4 months. Two days before the assignment was to end, a friend of mine informed me of a vacancy in her office and approached the Manager of that department, That day I fasted and went to church and left it up to the Lord's will. The next morning I got a call from the employer offering me the job. Praise the Lord! Our God is so good - he always answers our prayers if we place our trust in him. I desperately needed to work as my husband's job was shaky too. I never cease to thank God, each day, for giving me the opportunity to work when there are so many jobless at this time. The Lord has given me a full-time job. I was working in a seasonal position, for the holidays, and they have decided to hire me permanantly. I just got the news that I am offered a job. I had previously gone for several interviews. I got this job so fast. The vacancy appeared on the net and I applied for it on the same day. I was called for interview the next day. I was called for the second interview two days later and next day I was offered the job. I trust in Jesus that He has a beautiful plan for me. I'm thanking Jesus for the wonderful mirecles He had done in my life. I had so many difficulties in my family during the past year. I send a prayer request on 23rd December for my wife Laurie. She is having a test done the following day because they found a cyst in her breast. The test came out normal and everything was fine. God is great and he keeps teaching me a lesson to not take things for granted. My faith is with Jesus and he tells us that faith the size of a mustard seed will move mountains. I came to US in 1998, Though I tried for a job in US I didn't get one, but I realize that God had definite plans for my family and me. At that time I came to know about the Gethsemane prayer group in Toronto. I attended their prayer meeting and I was inspired to organize a prayer group in Rochester NY where I live. Thus we began a prayer meeting in Rochester two years ago. Since I was jobless in the US, I had planned to go back to my job in India, however I thought that before I leave I should organize a retreat in Rochester. I invited the Gethsemane prayer group to Rochester NY to conduct a one-day retreat, and it was a great blessing to all that participated. In the evening I invited the team for prayer in my house and dinner. It was only a miracle that as the team finished prayer and dinner at home, I received a phone call (on a Sunday evening ! ) offering me a job and asking me to join from Monday onwards. Praise the Lord ! It was a miracle indeed and I am still employed with the same company since then. In many ways God has abundantly blessed our family and me. Thanks for your prayers, my name is Tracey and I am Sherwin's sister. I just want to update you on what God is doing in Sherwin's life. I also wanted to thank each and every one of you for supporting my family in prayer. The doctors only expected Sherwin to live for 24 hours, but our God had other plans ! The doctors are amazed that Sherwin is still alive and they have admitted that it is a miracle. God has already performed several miracles. Everyday that he is alive is a miracle in itself. On November 21, he was able to open his eyes. He was also able to respond to our questions by nodding yes or no. The doctors took him off the ventilator and he was able to breathe on his own. He is in therapy now and is able to move his hands and his legs. In fact, he is able to walk with the help of his therapist. Praise God! The doctors also removed the tracheotomy so he can whisper now. Right now, I just want to thank the Lord for all of the lives that have changed as a result of this. However, the first week after all of this began, God completely changed Sherwin. On November 4, eight days after he was first admitted into the hospital, Sherwin received the gift of the Holy Spirit. He dedicated his life to ministry. I need you all to continue to uphold my brother in your prayers. Sherwin has received a spiritual healing, but now he needs a physical healing. A Healing has Taken Place ! Our family has experienced the miracle of healing through the prayers of so many of you! Last March the doctor informed my cousin, Delia Reyes, who resides with her family in California that she had stage 4 cancer and that she had 2 to 6 months to live. She had ovarian cancer. The cancer was also in her omentum (lining of her stomach). She started chemotherapy immediately, and in August, she underwent surgery. Last Thursday, the doctor informed her that the blood results taken the day before Thanksgiving showed that she no longer had cancer ! We ask you to praise & thank God for this healing ! S. My Grandson Luke was born on July 17, 2001, he was premature and his birth weight was 1lb. 13 oz. In August he developed a very severe fungal infection, his condition was not improving after three weeks of treatment. I asked for you to pray for him August 13th.Three days later there was minor improvement and everyday after that he improved more and more. It is now November 10th and he is now 5lbs 8oz. Last year my husband's company relocated us to another state. In August he was laid off. We have moved a great deal. With God's guidance, he is completing his second round of interviews for a job in our hometown. It is with a stable company, and we would be able to be with our loved ones and friends after all of this relocation. We pray that we get this position. Praise the Lord ! I sent in a prayer request on October 11th for my friend's aunt Mabel who under went an operation on the 11th. She was operated on the tongue where she had the cancer. With God's grace she received the news from her doctor that the cancer has not spread and they were able to remove the cancer cells completely from her tongue. As the business climate became bad, things started going from bad to worse in my company, and it came to a point when I had no option but to leave. At that time, however, the decision was made easier, because of the 'job offer' that I had got from someone I had worked with long ago, who I had not seen in two years. He offered me a job, to head one of his companies, as the CEO. But after I confirmed I was leaving the first company, it became difficult to connect with my old friend again. This uncertainty went on for over a month. I also sent in a prayer request. I got a call from this friend, within an hour of reading your email confirming receipt of my prayer request. We set up a meeting, and we confirmed my start date. I continue to keep my trust in Jesus and do my work.The progress has been much better than it has been before, and I request that you continue to keep me in your prayers.Thank you very much, and Praise the Lord !
